Gold Coast Pride Collective Launches with Glamour Over 200 people gathered at Hairy Mary’s for the official launch of the new Gold Coast Pride Collective, an organisation formed to fill the gap left by the closure of Gold Coast Rainbow Communities. The red-carpet “rainbow black tie” event—hosted by drag star Bebe Gunn—featured performances, community networking, and celebration.

The Collective, a registered not-for-profit, aims to support and uplift the LGBTQIA+SB community through inclusive programming, partnerships, and evidence-based strategies to create a more resilient, connected, and visible community on the Gold Coast.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

aboriginal and torres strait Island flags

We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia, the traditional custodians of the lands and water. GCPC respectfully acknowledges the Kombumerri people of the Yugambeh language region, who are the traditional owners of the land and waters on which we meet, work and play. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging; we affirm their ongoing connection to and care for country; and we recognise that sovereignty was never ceded.
