World AIDS Day Returns to the Gold Coast

Written By Dustin Lowrey

Last night, Gold Coast Pride Collective presented the return of the World AIDS Day memorial on the Gold Coast. The night centered around an intimate minute of silence to honour those who fought and continue to fight.

This event marks the first in what we hope will be many years of recognising this day and working to reduce the stigma and barriers people living with HIV continue to face, as well as delivering meaningful events and engagements like this one to help contribute to a Gold Coast we can all be proud of.

The event was coordinated by Dustin Lowrey, Founding Director of Partnerships, and powered by the entire GCPC network.

Inclusive celebrant Sacha Clark of https://www.ceremoniesbysacha.com/ led the ceremonial minute of silence with an eloquent service.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by @missdjdonna and a live painting session that every guest was able to contribute to. The painting will be for sale at a future raffle in December, follow us and engage so we get in your algorithm and you know where we’re going to be.

The event was in partnership with Queensland Positive People and the Queensland Council of LGBTI Health and supported by QT Surfers Paradise.
