Love a good movie and a chance to socialise with your community? Join the Gold Coast Pride Collective Queer Movie Club!

Each month, we get together to discover films across the Gold Coast—from queer stories and camp favourites to new releases and special preview screenings.

It’s a relaxed way to meet people, catch up with friends and share the big-screen experience with our LGBTQIA+ community, friends and allies.

More than a trip to the movies

The evening starts before the lights go down. We meet ahead of the screening to mingle, grab a drink and get to know each other.

Come on your own, bring a friend or make it a date night. If it’s your first time joining us, the pre-screening catch-up is a great opportunity to say hello.

Then we head into the cinema together for the main event.

A little something for every movie lover

Our movie club programme brings together magical adventures, fashion-fuelled comedy, queer icons and plenty of larger-than-life entertainment.

Our selections have included The Magic Faraway Tree, The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Stop! That! Train!, alongside special events such as a screening of Carlotta with a live Q&A hosted by DJ Beksis and featuring Carlotta herself.

Special screenings can bring a few extra treats, too.

How to join us

Keep an eye out for our monthly movie announcement, book your ticket through the event’s ticket link and join us for a catch-up before the screening. Each month we'll update with a new event on Facebook with details and the ticketing link.
 

Venues, meeting times, ticket prices and inclusions vary between events. Film classifications and venue entry conditions also apply, so please check the details before booking.

We recommend booking ahead, particularly for previews and special guest events. Door sales may be available where advertised, subject to availability.
