Move, connect and belong
Pride Stride is a free, inclusive community wellbeing event presented by Gold Coast Pride Collective. It’s a chance to get outdoors, meet new people and enjoy some relaxed time with our LGBTQIA+ community, friends and allies.
Whether you love a walk, prefer a gentle stroll or would rather settle in for a chat, you’re welcome. There’s no competition or pressure to keep up—just an opportunity to connect in a way that feels comfortable for you.
A wonderful first step
Our first Pride Stride took place at HOTA Parklands on Saturday 10 October 2026, bringing people together for a wonderful day of community, connection, exercise and, of course, snacks!
Attendees formed groups for different walks around the lake, while others relaxed and soaked up the atmosphere together. There was room to get moving and room to simply enjoy being there.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our first event so welcoming. A special thank you to Queensland Mental Health Week, whose sponsorship helped make the day possible.
We’re making it monthly!
We loved getting together so much that Pride Stride will return as a monthly community event, with some fabulous additions.
Alongside our walks and relaxed catch-ups, future events will include a community picnic and community arts and crafts activities, giving everyone more ways to join in, get creative and spend time together.
Come for a walk, enjoy the picnic, try some arts and crafts or pull up a seat and have a conversation. You don’t need to be a keen walker—or an experienced crafter—to take part.
A little movement. A lot of connection.
Pride Stride is about more than exercise. It’s about making time for each other and creating a welcoming place to belong.
Come on your own, bring a friend or partner, or gather a group. Familiar faces and first-time visitors are equally welcome.

Join us for the final day of Gold Coast Wellbeing Week 2026—a week dedicated to bringing our community together and helping people feel more connected to themselves, to others and to their community.
For this special event, the iconic Hairy Mary’s Mermaid Beach will be transformed into a calm, welcoming, all-ages and completely alcohol-free venue for the day.
